World of Hyatt just dropped their first major promotion of 2026, and it’s a good one. The Bonus Journeys promotion lets you earn up to 28,000 bonus points on stays completed between February 2 and April 15, 2026.
If you have any Hyatt stays planned this spring — or can shift some hotel stays to Hyatt properties — this promotion is worth registering for immediately.
The Quick Math
Here’s what you can earn:
| Bonus Type | Requirement | Points | Max Earnings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base Bonus | Every 3 nights at ANY Hyatt | 3,000 pts | 21,000 pts |
| Select Bonus | Every 3 nights at Hyatt Place/Select | 1,000 pts | 7,000 pts |
| Total Possible | 28,000 pts |
That’s 21 nights at any Hyatt for the base bonus, plus 21 nights specifically at Hyatt Place or Hyatt Select properties to stack the extra 7,000.
Why This Matters
World of Hyatt points are the most valuable hotel currency in the game. We value them at around 1.7 cents per point, which means:
- 28,000 Hyatt points ≈ $476 in value
- That’s on top of your regular earning
- Plus any elite status bonuses
For comparison, 28,000 Marriott Bonvoy points would only be worth about $196 at our valuations. Hyatt points punch way above their weight.
How to Register
This is critical: You must register BEFORE your first qualifying stay.
- Visit World of Hyatt Bonus Journeys
- Log into your World of Hyatt account
- Click “Register Now”
- Start earning on stays from Feb 2 - April 15, 2026
Registration takes 30 seconds. Don’t skip this step — unregistered stays won’t count retroactively.
What Counts as an “Eligible Night”?
Almost all Hyatt stays count, including:
✅ Paid stays at any Hyatt brand
✅ Award stays (paid with points)
✅ Cash + Points stays
✅ Hyatt Place & Hyatt House (perfect for road trips)
✅ Mr & Mrs Smith properties
✅ The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas
✅ Homes & Hideaways vacation rentals
What doesn’t count:
❌ Points Advance reservations (until points are deducted)
❌ Complimentary award stays from promotions
❌ Stays booked through third-party sites (Expedia, etc.)
Strategy: How to Maximize This Promotion
1. Stack with Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card Bonuses
If you have the World of Hyatt Credit Card (see our Chase Ultimate Rewards guide for more on the Chase ecosystem), you earn:
- 4x points on Hyatt purchases
- 2x bonus points on Category 1-4 hotels (total 6x)
Those card earnings stack with Bonus Journeys earnings.
2. Target 3-Night Stays
The bonuses trigger in 3-night increments. A 2-night stay earns nothing extra; a 3-night stay earns 3,000 bonus points.
If you’re planning a 5-night trip, consider:
- Splitting into 3 nights + 2 nights at different properties (if the 2-night stay can be extended elsewhere)
- Or extending to 6 nights if the math works
3. Use Hyatt Place for Budget-Friendly Stacking
Hyatt Place and Hyatt Select properties earn the extra 1,000 points per 3 nights on top of the base bonus. That’s:
- 3,000 (base) + 1,000 (Select bonus) = 4,000 points per 3 nights
- For 21 nights: 21,000 + 7,000 = 28,000 total
Hyatt Place rates are often comparable to mid-tier hotels, making them a great value for road trips or business travel.
4. Book Award Stays for Double Value
Here’s a pro move: Award stays count for Bonus Journeys.
You can redeem points for a free night AND still earn 1,000 bonus points (1/3 of the 3-night bonus). That’s essentially getting paid points to use points.
5. Combine with Globalist Status Perks
World of Hyatt Globalists (60+ nights/year) get:
- 4 PM late checkout
- Room upgrades
- Free breakfast
- Suite upgrade awards
If you’re chasing Globalist status, Bonus Journeys makes the grind significantly more rewarding.
Best Uses for Hyatt Points
Once you’ve earned your bonus points, here are some of our favorite redemptions. For a deep dive, check out our complete World of Hyatt guide.
Aspirational Luxury (Category 8)
- Park Hyatt Maldives — 45,000 pts/night (worth $2,500+)
- Park Hyatt Kyoto — 45,000 pts/night
- Alila Villas Uluwatu — 45,000 pts/night
Great Value (Category 3-4)
- Hyatt Regency Seattle — 15,000 pts/night
- Hyatt Place properties — 5,000-12,000 pts/night
- Hyatt House (extended stay with kitchens) — 8,000-15,000 pts/night
Sweet Spot: Points + Cash
For premium properties, Points + Cash rates can be excellent. You’ll use half the points plus a cash co-pay, often saving 30-40% vs. full point redemptions.
The Stacking Opportunity
Here’s where it gets interesting. You can combine:
- Bonus Journeys — 3,000-4,000 points per 3 nights
- Base earning — 5 points per $1 spent
- Elite bonus — Up to 30% more for Globalists
- Credit card earning — 4x on Hyatt + 2x category bonus
- Milestone rewards — Additional bonuses at 20, 30, 40+ nights
A Globalist member at a Category 4 property paying $200/night could earn:
- 1,000 base points (5 x $200)
- 300 elite bonus (30%)
- 1,200 credit card points (6x category bonus)
- Plus 1,333 Bonus Journeys points (prorated per night)
That’s roughly 3,800+ points per night — almost 2 cents per dollar in just points, before counting elite perks.
Who Should Skip This Promotion?
If you:
- Have only 1-2 Hyatt nights planned (won’t hit the 3-night threshold)
- Are loyal to Marriott or Hilton and don’t want to switch
- Already booked through a third-party site (those stays won’t count)
…then Bonus Journeys won’t move the needle for you.
The Bottom Line
World of Hyatt Bonus Journeys is one of the most generous hotel promotions we see regularly. The combination of:
- Valuable currency (1.7 cpp)
- Stackable bonuses (card + elite + Bonus Journeys)
- Award stay eligibility (earn bonuses on free nights)
…makes this a no-brainer for anyone with Hyatt stays planned February through April.
Register now — it takes 30 seconds and there’s zero downside. Even if you only have one 3-night stay planned, that’s 3,000+ free points ($51+ value) you’d otherwise miss.
