⚠️ DEAL EXPIRED: This flash sale ended February 8, 2026. See our current deals page for active promotions.

This is not a drill. Avianca LifeMiles just dropped one of the most aggressive award sales I’ve seen this year, and it expires tomorrow, February 8th.

We’re talking flights from the US to Central and South America starting at just 2,400 miles one-way in economy. Business class starts at around 13,000 miles one-way. At these prices, you’d be hard-pressed to find a cheaper way to get to Latin America.

The Deal

Avianca LifeMiles is running a flash sale on award flights from the US to destinations across Central and South America:

  • Economy class: Starting from ~2,400 miles one-way
  • Business class: Starting from ~13,000 miles one-way
  • Book by: February 8, 2026
  • Travel through: May 31, 2026
  • Max tickets: 8 per LifeMiles account

The sale appears to cover most, if not all, of Avianca’s US routes — so whether you’re eyeing Bogotá, Lima, Medellín, Cartagena, or destinations in Central America, there’s a good chance your route is discounted.

Sample Pricing

While exact pricing varies by route and date, here’s what you can expect:

Economy Awards

RouteSale Price
Miami → Bogotá~2,400 miles
Miami → Medellín~3,000 miles
LA → Lima~5,500 miles
NYC → Cartagena~4,200 miles

Business Class Awards

RouteSale Price
Miami → Bogotá~13,000 miles
Miami → Medellín~15,000 miles
Miami → Lima~22,000 miles

Note: Pricing varies by date and availability. Taxes and fees apply.

Stack It With Capital One’s Transfer Bonus

Here’s where it gets even better. Capital One is currently offering a 15% transfer bonus to Avianca LifeMiles through the end of February. That means:

  • Transfer 10,000 Capital One miles → Receive 11,500 LifeMiles
  • Transfer 20,000 Capital One miles → Receive 23,000 LifeMiles

If you hold a Capital One Venture X or other Capital One miles-earning card, this is the perfect time to move those points over. At 2,400 miles for a one-way economy flight, you’re looking at effectively ~2,100 Capital One miles per flight after the bonus — that’s insane value.

Check out our February 2026 Transfer Bonuses guide for more active bonus opportunities.

A Word of Caution on Business Class

Before you book that business class award, do your homework on the aircraft. Avianca’s business class product varies dramatically depending on the plane:

The Good

  • Some Boeing 787 Dreamliners have lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration — a proper international business class experience

The Not-So-Good

  • Other 787s have 2-3-2 recliners — not ideal for an overnight flight
  • Airbus aircraft typically have 2-2 recliners (similar to domestic US first class) or European-style business class with blocked middle seats

Pro tip: Check SeatGuru or the seat map during booking to see what you’re getting. A lie-flat seat from Miami to Bogotá for 13,000 miles? Absolutely. A recliner for 22,000 miles? Maybe not.

Key Restrictions

Before you book, here’s what you need to know:

  1. US residents only — You must be registered as a US resident in the LifeMiles database or hold a US Avianca LifeMiles credit card
  2. No stopovers — This is point-to-point only
  3. 8 ticket maximum — Per LifeMiles account
  4. Blackout dates apply — Some dates may not be available at sale prices

How to Book

  1. Go to LifeMiles.com
  2. Search for your desired route and dates
  3. Look for the discounted pricing (it should show automatically for eligible routes)
  4. Book by February 8, 2026

Don’t have enough LifeMiles? Consider:

  • Transferring from Capital One (with the 15% bonus)
  • Buying LifeMiles (LifeMiles frequently runs buy-miles sales, though there isn’t one active right now)
  • Transferring from Citi ThankYou (1:1 ratio, no bonus currently)

Why Avianca LifeMiles Is Worth Your Attention

Avianca LifeMiles is one of the most flexible transfer partner programs available to US travelers. Unlike some airline programs with complex zone-based charts, LifeMiles often offers:

  • No fuel surcharges on most partner awards
  • Easy online booking for Star Alliance partners
  • Frequent sales on both award flights and buying miles
  • Transfer partnerships with Capital One, Citi, and Marriott

If you’re building a points strategy, having some LifeMiles in your toolkit opens up redemption options across Star Alliance — including Lufthansa, Swiss, and ANA. See our beginner’s guide to airline miles for more on building a multi-program strategy.

Bottom Line

This is one of those “stop what you’re doing and book” deals. Flights to South America for 2,400 miles? Business class for 13,000 miles? These prices are absurd — in a good way.

The only catch is the tight booking window. The sale ends tomorrow, February 8th, so you need to act fast. If you’ve been eyeing a trip to Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, or anywhere else Avianca flies, now’s your chance.

Just remember to check the seat configuration if you’re booking business class — check SeatGuru to see exactly what you’re getting. There’s a big difference between a lie-flat pod and a recliner!
