⚠️ EXPIRED: This promotion ended February 22, 2026. Frontier occasionally runs similar free miles promos — we’ll cover them when they appear.
Frontier ran one of the easiest free miles promotions we’ve seen: “The Big Redemption.” Here’s how it worked and what to watch for in future promos.
No catch. No credit card. No spend requirement. Just free miles.
How The Big Redemption Works
Here’s the deal:
- Take a screenshot showing your mileage balance in another airline’s program (Delta, United, American, Southwest — any legitimate airline works)
- Submit it to Frontier through their promo page
- Get matched up to 5,000 miles within 5 business days
That’s it. Frontier calls it “converting” your miles, but nothing actually happens to your existing balance. They’re essentially matching what you have, up to 5,000 miles.
Important Details
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Maximum miles | 5,000 per account |
| Minimum miles | 1,000 (submit less, you still get 1,000) |
| Deadline | February 22, 2026 |
| Or when | 70 million miles are claimed |
| Credit time | Within 5 business days |
| Limit | One entry per Frontier Miles account |
The Math That Matters
70 million miles ÷ 5,000 per person = 14,000 participants max
Once 14,000 people claim their miles, the promo ends — regardless of the February 22nd deadline. Given how easy this is, I expect those spots to go fast.
What Can You Do With 5,000 Frontier Miles?
Frontier’s award chart starts at 5,000 miles one-way for domestic flights. That means this free promo could literally get you a free flight.
Sweet spots:
- Short domestic hops (Denver to Vegas, Orlando to Atlanta)
- Off-peak travel times
- Last-minute trips when cash prices are high
Even if you’ve never considered Frontier, free is free. Bank the miles and use them for a quick getaway later.
Step-by-Step: How to Claim Your Free Miles
Step 1: Join Frontier Miles (If You Haven’t)
Create a free Frontier Miles account. Takes 2 minutes.
Step 2: Screenshot Your Other Miles
Open any airline loyalty program where you have miles:
- Delta SkyMiles
- United MileagePlus
- American AAdvantage
- Southwest Rapid Rewards
- JetBlue TrueBlue
- Alaska Mileage Plan
- Any legitimate airline program
Take a screenshot showing your balance. Need at least 1,000 miles to maximize the promo, but even less gets you 1,000 Frontier miles.
Step 3: Submit Your Entry
Head to Frontier Miles and fill out the promo form. Upload your screenshot and submit.
Step 4: Wait for Your Miles
Miles should appear in your account within 5 business days.
Pro Tips
Submit ASAP. With only 14,000 spots, waiting could mean missing out entirely.
Use your highest balance. If you have 50,000 Delta miles, screenshot that — you’ll get the full 5,000 Frontier miles.
Multiple household members? Each person can create their own Frontier Miles account and submit separately. Family of four = potential 20,000 free miles.
Nothing happens to your other miles. Despite Frontier calling it a “conversion,” your Delta/United/etc. balance stays exactly the same.
Is Frontier Worth It?
Look, Frontier is a budget carrier. You’ll pay for bags, seat selection, and pretty much everything else. But for a free short flight? Absolutely worth it.
When Frontier makes sense:
- ✅ Short trips where you’d only bring a personal item
- ✅ Spontaneous weekend getaways
- ✅ When cash prices are absurd ($300+ one-way)
- ✅ You just need to get somewhere cheap
When to skip it:
- ❌ Long flights where comfort matters
- ❌ Trips requiring checked bags (fees add up fast)
- ❌ Peak travel when delays are common
How Frontier Compares to Other Budget Carriers
Frontier isn’t alone in the ultra-low-cost carrier space. Here’s how their miles program stacks up:
| Airline | Miles for Free Flight | Ease of Earning |
|---|---|---|
| Frontier | 5,000-20,000 | Moderate |
| Spirit | 2,500-25,000 | Easy (many transfer partners) |
| Southwest | 5,000-30,000 | Easy (Chase transfer) |
The advantage of Frontier miles is they’re often overlooked — meaning less competition for award seats. For more on which airline miles are worth collecting, see our complete guide to airline miles.
The Bottom Line
Free miles are free miles. This is a 5-minute task that could save you $100+ on a future flight.
The promo ends February 22nd or when 70 million miles run out. With only 14,000 spots available, don’t sleep on this one.
